Wire thread inserts are helically coiled fastening devices that provide permanent, wear-resistant screw threads that exceed the strength of most parent material; the inserts are designed to protect tapped holes against failures due to stripping, seizing, corrosion, and wear.

STRIP FEED INSERTS
For even greater productivity during high volume production, Heli-Coil® screw thread inserts can be supplied in reels of plastic tape known as Strip Feed Inserts. The inserts are held securely in the reels of plastic tape and neatly coiled into reels. Hence, the insert is positioned properly for installation each and every time, eliminating time spent on manual positioning of the inserts.
When used with the Pneumatic Power Tool, Strip Feed Inserts speed up assembly time, eliminates cumbersome manual handling of each insert, eliminates incidents of dropped inserts, and facilitates counting of inserts.

TANGLESS & TANGED INSERTS
There are two styles of Heli-Coil® tangless inserts. “Free-Running” tangless inserts provide a smooth free-running thread. The “Screw-Locking” tangless insert provides self-locking torque on the male member by a series of “chords” on one or more of the insert coils. With tangless inserts no loose tangs are left behind, and they are the solution when foreign object debris cannot be present in critical applications. They eliminate the need for tang break-off and tang retrieval and can be easily adjusted or removed after installation.
Tangless and tanged inserts are used extensively in aircraft applications, such as engines, gear boxes, fuel systems, radar, avionics, flight controls, lighting and HVAC systems. They are also used widely by the military and in many other electronic, mechanical, and commercial applications.
PNEUMATIC POWER TOOL
The pneumatic power tool speeds up installation speed & assembly, eliminates waste, and permits an accurate count of inserts. It allows for rapid installation of both standard free running and screw-lock inserts.
It can be hand held, vertically or horizontally mounted onto a Pneumatic Power Tool Holder, or adapted to both semi-automatic and fully automatic installation stations.
The threaded mandrel system of the pneumatic power tool eliminates the possibility of cross threading or jamming of the wire insert during installation as the insert is pitch controlled as it moves from the tool to the workpiece via the threaded mandrel. This ensures a precise assembly, each and every time.
